Yeah. Don’t do it, it’s a scammy pyramid scheme and will cost you money instead of making profit. Plus all your friends will hate you if you keep hassling them on Facebook Grin

My mum was a rep 30 odd years ago and when I ran into a school mum selling them, I got nostalgic and bought some. I feel like a twit because I could have got them a lot cheaper at The Works.

Another call for don’t bother! They are so much more expensive to buy and you’ll just guilt people into buying them. It’s telling that no one I know sells them for longer than a couple of months

I can imagine it's really hard to sell them when you can get them so cheaply through the book people etc. I love Usborne but never pay full price. Hate the MLM aspect.

You can't get them all from the book people or the works though Hmm

Friend is currently trying to flog That’s Not My books from Usborne for £7. They’re £2.99 in Aldi and £4-5 on Amazon, and she’s wondering why they’re not selling Grin

Which town - as our Works doesn't have many Usborne books in. And I've never seen any of the fiction books in ours.

The sad thing is that the Usborne range is pretty amazing - particularly for non-fiction all ages and fiction books for readers. Over 2500 books in the catalogue. Most people dont see that or know about it unless they speak to a rep. You can indeed buy some of the Usborne range much cheaper elsewhere but it tends to be the sticker or activity books.

The publisher has been going for over 40 years and regularly wins awards so there is no issue with the quality of books.

I did sell usborne for a long time but refused to engage in all the team building nonsense. That made it very difficult to make reasonable money. The Usborne from Home selling structure doesnt really work in the modern world. Personally I think Usborne have been very slow to restructure. They need a dedicated team to get reps into schools and then reps to visit and execute orders.

I’m sure the range of books is great. But it’s simply not possible for a few dozen friends to sustain a person’s “business” and it’s not fair to put that upon them. I don’t want to be repeatedly pestered on Facebook and in person. I don’t want to buy raffle tickets all the time. I don’t want to have a party to pester all my other friends and I definitely don’t want to join as a seller on your “team”. It’s not a business when you’re just pestering friends and family to buy stuff from you that they don’t really want.
