Going to Paris with 2.5 year old dd in August, she loves books and I just wondered if there were any stories about the city we could read to her to help her get excited for the visit.

A walk in Paris by Salvatore Rubbino would be perfect

There’s also a Paris sticker book and children’s map in related children’s books on amazon

We have a booked called 'A Lion in Paris' we bought from the Tate but I think you can get it on amazon.

Beautiful illustrations and got DS (4) very excited for a trip to Paris!

Katie and the Mona Lisa? I can't remember if this one goes around Paris or just 'into' the Mona Lisa though.

Thanks all! Have ordered A Walk in Paris, A lion in Paris looks great but is quite pricey! Will check out Madeline too, they may have that at the library.

Yes sounds like Katie and the Mona Lisa is more about the art, really wanted a more Parisian lifestyle/sights etc for now, thanks though.

Miroslav Sasek's This is Paris is beautiful - written as a kind of child's guide to Paris with gorgeous illustrations www.amazon.co.uk/This-Paris-Miroslav-Sasek/dp/0789310635?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

This book, although not ‘about’ Paris as such, is clearly set there and shows some of the landmarks. It’s also beautifully illustrated and very funny! www.amazon.co.uk/Three-Little-Monkeys-Quentin-Blake/dp/0008164479?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21
