Enid Blyton books for 5 year olds

My 5 year old isn't a free reader yet, we borrowed Enid Blytons Little Button Elves from the library today & she loved it, had to read it 3 times!
Going to order some Enid Blyton from Amazon to read to her, what would be suitable for her age group? Is the Magic Faraway tree a bit too much yet?
Any recommendations for other books would be welcome, she is really moving away from picture books & also likes the Rainbow Fairies chapter books (which I despise as I have to read it in one go..)

My 5yr old has recently enjoyed Amelia Jane by Enid Blyton plus the Princess Mirror-Belle series by Julia Donaldson. Following for further suggestions!

I have a DD5 (Y1). We've been through the Faraway Tree collection (3 books) and the Wishing Chair collection, because of the fond memories I have of them as a child.... Jeez they're repetitive/boring/long-winded/ridiculous!! She loves them though and gets really involved in the stories! I can't wait for them to be over, might try Secret Seven/Famous Five next!

Brilliant thanks, this is great. Not much choice in the library unfortunately. I'll look up those suggesions now. Keep them coming!!

Just a friendly warning/reminder about the famous five (we’ve now read 11 out of 22 books 😳) that they think and talk about meals a LOT... and they always seem to rustle up splendid picnics of fruitcake, meat pies and blimmin ginger beer Grin

Ha Airy Fairy I remember the sardine sandwiches from when I read them!

My five year old DS is loving the Enchanted Wood being read to him. His older sister loved Amelia Jane, Wishing Chair, all the pixie/ fairy ones at that age. She got into ‘Naughtiest Girl’ when she could read it by herself around aged 6.5 and is now never without an Enid Blyton in her hand.
We encourage other stuff as well, and she does read widely, but always back to EB for comfort reading.

Thank you, did an amazon order last night & ordered a load, the used ones are as cheap as chips! Our library doesn't have a great selection or else the books we're after are in popular demand. I will keep coming back to this thread for future inspiration.
