Children's books

Which picture books have characters from Indian/Chinese/Pakistani/Middles Eastern backgrounds?

I’m a bit pity out of the loop of picture books so wanted some ideas for books featuring children from a wider range of backgrounds. I know a few that have children from African or Afro- Caribbean backgrounds but realised I couldn’t think of many from other groups.

I have had a google but there were a lot of American sites and articles about chapter books for older readers.

Thanks

Bringing In The New Year by Grace Lin
Hats Off To Hair by Virginia Kroll (children of all different ethnicities)
Engines, Engines An Indian Counting Rhyme by Lisa Bruce
Geeta's Day From Dawn To Dusk In An Indian Village by Prodeepta Das

Will see if I can think of any more!

OK, here are a few more which I have in the library where I volunteer.

The Dragon Kite by Kenneth Steven
Fortune Cookie Fortunes by Grace Lin
Stories From The Silk Road by Cherry Gilchrist
P Is For Pakistan by Shazia Razzak
Suki's Kimono by Cheri Uegaki (not sure if you are interested in Japan!)

Would also recommend having a look at //www.willesdenbookshop.co.uk, which is a specialist children's multicultural books website. I have ordered from them a few times, and have always received great service. If you live anywhere near WIllesden, I think there is an actual shop but I have only ever ordered online.
