Books for 5 year old who is enjoying Horrid Henry early readers

Has anyone got book ideas for a 5 year old (YR) to read to himself?

DS is currently reading through the Horrid Henry early readers which he loves and has just read through the Project X Alien Adventure series.

We read all sorts with him (he'll 'share' reading alternate pages of harder chapter books and he'll read a lot of picture books to his little brother) but we're looking for chapter he can read himself - he loves to have them by his bed.

There are some Beast Quest early readers too. Best place to start is local library, then you can try a load of different things and see what he enjoys most.
