Recommendations for books about sex for pre-teens

To be clear, not about pre-teens having sex, just what to tell pre-teens about sex!

Had a great talk with DD today about puberty, sex etc and she asked me how lesbians have sex. I mentioned oral sex, but honestly wasn't really sure what to say.

DD is 11, I believe if she is old enough to ask then she is old enough to know, but don't want to go into too much unnecessary detail. Are these any decent, factual books which are age appropriate and can give her more info about all aspects of sex, porn, masturbation etc. Failing that, a book that I can read which will help me answer her questions?

Thanks, turquoise, she has that book already, which is what sparked the conversation😀

She is emotionally pretty mature, and I have always answered her questions about bodies/sex etc very matter of fact and honestly (she knew the basics of babymaking in reception - the infamous "special hug" 😁)

I just feel like we are getting to the stage where her questions will soon be beyond me. I'm certainly no prude, but would describe my sex life as 'vanilla hetero' up to now, and rather than sending her off to google (god forbid!) I'd like to be able to find age appropriate ways to answer her questions.

I can relate to the 'vanilla hetro' sex life, mine too! Yes you don't want her googling if you can help it! I can't recommend anything else Im afraid as my DS hasn't really asked any other questions, he's 12 but still quite young for his age. Hopefully someone else will be able to recommend something.

We have that, DD is 10 and not remotely interested. I noticed another one when looking for the link just now, looks a bit more mature.

I don't know of any books, but in answer to questions about how lesbians have sex, I'd probably point out that sex isn't just about vaginal penetration, that both women and men can and do use hands and mouths to give pleasure. Does your DD know much about masturbation?

I bought my DD who is 11 a book called 100% me she loved it and it saved on the awkward bits your teen might be too embarrassed to ask you.
