DD is almost 3, and loves books. I am looking for recommendations for a nice set to get for Christmas this year. Her current favourite story is Charlie Cook, and we have most of the Donaldson/Sheffler collection along with everyone else in the country! I hate Elmer so please don't suggest that!

My son likes the hairy maclairy books. The book people have a set for a good price.

Thanks Mol, I've never heard of those but she loves dogs so will take a look.

I saw these when I googled the book people- I vaguely remember having something similar as a child and loving them. Has anyone got them?

"Press here" and "365 Penguins" delightfully off the wall.

Mine could do Slinki Malinki off by heart at that age (it all rhymes). We also loved little Rabbit Foo Foo. Assume you have Bear Hunt.

My DD absolutely loved all things Maisy at that age.

Miffy would suit that age too.

Shirley Hughes is also great for that age
