My daughter loves reading adventure stories. She has enjoyed all the How to train your dragon series, A series of unfortunate events, Alex Ryder, Ottoline, and some beast quest. Can anyone recommend some other adventure stories with a female protagonist? Thanks!

If she's fairly mature she might like moondial. It's sort of a ghost story but it's got a gutsy female lead. Maybe read it before her to see if you think she will be OK with it

Most Eva Ibbotson stories have a female protagonist. My DD especially liked 'The Dragonfly Pool' and 'Journey to the River Sea'

My daughter and some of her friends absolutely love Lari Don's Fabled Beasts series of books - they're sort of mythical creatures mixed in with a modern female lead. She was really hooked and has read them several times over.

I know it's not fantasy, but the Wells & Wong murder stories are really good. Great protagonists. I think one of them is called First Class Murder.

And she may be a little young still but his dark materials if amazing. Pullman also has a bunch of victorian detective novels with a female lead.

Song of the Lionness series by Tamora Pierce. I think Eva Ibbotson's stories are fab! Especially Which Witch, I read that for the first time when I was eight or so.
Another great series which came out quite recently are the Calpurnia Tate books. There are two at the moment but I think a third is due to be punished soon.
