What next after Dinosaur Cove?

DS (5, nearly 6) loves the Dinosaur Cove series. Partly because it's dinosaurs, but also for the fact he can collect the series, he can (mostly) read them himself, and they're short enough to be read over two or three nights of bedtime stories.

So what next?! I've suggested Secret Seven but he doesn't seem too interested (and to be fair, that's mostly because I want to re-read them!). I also suggested Roald Dahl, but he's got so many as audio books that he not interested in reading the books because he already knows the stories.

Before I have to resort to the dreaded Beast Quest, is there anything else out there that you can recommend?!

Cows In Action series, also by Steve Cole.

Or Spy Dogs and Spy Pups series, by Andrew Cope.

The secret seven is beyond dull. Seriously. And I loved it as a child.

My ds loved the Rascal series - but we read them to him.

Hmm, Astrosaurs is a good one - we got one out the library a while back and he seemed to like it. I don't know a lot of the others but they're good inspiration for a trip to Waterstones so thank you! I don't know why I'm avoiding Beast Quest, just somehow they don't appeal - to me at least.

Beliveitornot don't say the Secret Seven are bad, I loved all Enid Blyton as a child (was desperate to go to boarding school, as long as it was Malory Towers!). Maybe I should leave it as a fond memory, rather than actually re-reading them!

Space Penguins?
Star Wars and Star Wars Rebels books?
Julia Donaldson's "Dinosaur's Diary?"

second Astrosaurs

At that age DS loved the Claude series of books, Foxy Tales, and Cakes in Space (and others by the same author).

Beastly Boys books are good, though he may need you to read them to him to begin with:
