Yes! All that being plucked out of bed in the dead of night by a giant was too much for my 6 yo.He wouldn't let us continue, so I certainly wouldn't read it to my 4 yo.

My 6 year old enjoyed it but was a bit scared. Definitely wasn't ready for it before that age.

My dd had it read at 3, no trouble. Depends on the child I'd say.

No - my 2 DCs both loved it at that age and I rather enjoy doing the Queen's voice
The Twits, on the other hand, gives me nightmares so I don't read it aloud.
