My kids (almost 5 and 2.5) love listening to Julia Donaldson's stories in the car. we have the 5-book collection with The Gruffalo, Monkey Puzzle, Squash and a Squeeze, Room with a Broom and The Smartest Giant in Town). We also have Peter and the Wolf. Am struggling to find any other suitable cds - I am thinking Roald Dahl for when they are a bit older. I did find Tiddler on amazon but it was 45 pounds!

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Roald Dahl!!!

Got us from Yorkshire to Cornwall with barely a squeek when they were 4 and 2. Have been constantly travelling companions ever since. They are well read by wrll known actors and even after 18 months it's difficult to tire of them.

There's another JD selection with some of the same books, some different. Been on offer with the book people recently (as have the roald dahls).

If you have the technology, you can get things through audible, which often have a joining offer. How to train your dragon, or Paddington, or the wind in the willows etc.?

I've recently bought a story set from The Book People for £9.99 that has things like 'we're going on bear hunt', The mousehole cat, Maisy, Where's my Teddy etc. It's a really nice set because each story cd has various related songs and action rhymes to do as well, so each cd lasts for about 20 mins or so. My dd (2yrs) loves it.

Bernard Cribbins reading the Sophie books by Dick King Smith were a big hit with my girls. And it makes me feel like I'm listening to Jackanory...
