This arrived yesterday and was read at bedtime, twice. I love the art style and the story is fun. I especially like the few French phrases thrown in the book.

Dd(3.7), has really enjoyed this book. We both loved the illustrations, especially the "ice cream page" which was fun, she liked turning the book around to look at that picture.
She said she was sad at the end when Pierre leaves but was soon laughing again when she spotted his tail under the bed.
It has been our bedtime story for 3 nights, so a definite hit!
Thankyou for sending us a copy.

Thanks for the book. DS (4) loves it and asked for it to be read 2x on the first reading and then it was requested against bedtime. Lovely illustrations and DS wanted to chat about lots of things as we were reading. (how did they get to the moon, could he have some stinky cheese and a picnic, and the French words). The book got his interest from the first page when Amelia asks the reader to keep a secret.... We have read it about 5 times so far and he has said "ok" to keeping the secret every time! Would highly recommend.

Thanks very much for the book. My daughter wanted to read it straight away. So enjoyed it a lot and wanted it again and again. The illustrations are really great and I particulary liked the French phrases. A new favourite in our household.

I read the book first and loved it. I agree with many of the comments above. The style of writing is engaging, fun and creative. The illustrations are very entertaining and the odd French words a cool touch.

My DD is 3.5 years old and in 1 day, we have read it 10 times. She loves it, especially the introduction where Amelia has a secret; the pictures of the dinosaur hiding made her laugh, as well as the dinosaur liking stinky cheese; she liked saying the French words and has asked for more; the adventures they have really inspired her, as she is making up more adventures for them and us. I think she wishes Pierre the dinosaur was actually real.

A great hit, thank you so much for sending it to us.

Thank you for sending us the book which arrived last week. My daugher and I enjoyed reading this book and the illustrations are lovely. We both loved the cover of the book as well, as well as using a few french words.
It is really sweet, and I liked that it introduces in a very easy way the whole notion of "saying goodbye" to a friend, and that you will see them again at a later stage.

Thank you so much for our copy of this lovely book. Both my children have enjoyed it (even though DS is a bit past the picture book stage). DD (5) really loves it, especially the page when Pierre is hiding. We even took it to granny and grandpa's house and when granny read it she said it reminded her of "Puff the magic dragon" with the dinosaur leaving at the end.

Thank you so much for this wonderful book, we enjoyed reading it together and thought the illustrations were fantastic. It is a lovely story and a great way of teaching children how to say goodbye to a friend.

My son loved this book. Thank you very much!
He is a dino fan so that made him happy. He liked all the references to sweets and confectionary.
He liked the French expressions dotted throughout the book. I've had to read it again and again which is a good sign of a hit book in our house.

He also spotted the dino under the bed on the last page - something which I didn't notice at all!

Thank you for this lovely book. My son is potentially a little bit young for it at 2.5 but loves the story being read to him and trying to find where Pierre is hiding. It is bright and engaging and a perfect length for bedtime reading.

Thanks for the book. My son and I loved it. Usually it takes him time to get into new books, and I often find he turns his nose up with female main characters. But this one, he grabbed straight away.

We loved the bright colours, and it's given my preschooler lots of ideas for places to hide when playing hide and seek. He didn't really understand where Pierre was going at the end, but it did mean we could chat around the story which we often don't really do when reading picture books.

He found it really funny, and I think having the french phrases helped us talk about french as he's learning some at both of his nurseries. So really good for an all round education along with some fun storytime.

My 3 year old daughter loved this book. She made a point of telling me so afterwards and asked for a second reading, which is the proof of the pudding! It was a nice quirk to have a few French words in the story, the illustrations were lovely and if I read it to her enough times, she may be the only 3 year old to understand the meaning of 'inconspicuous'! It was a good story for parent and child alike and good bedtime length. A regular bedtime story I'm sure!

We read this book as a family and enjoyed the pictures especially.
It is a good, imaginative story which caught the imagination of my 4 year old niece. The inclusion of a few french words was also a nice touch. We would recommend this as a lighthearted, jolly read with great pictures.

Thank you so much for this lovely book. My daughter who is four loves it. She is beginning to understand that we all live in different countries and that people speak different languages so she really related to the use of two languages in the book. It has definitely helped her to understand the concept of the 'world' far more.
The illustration style is brilliant and a wide range of scenarios were covered. We have hot chocolate a lot with marshmallows so it was nice for my daughter to see it illustrated so beautifully and thoughtfully - on the moon no less.
I'm sure we will enjoy this book for a long time to come - my son will like it too when he finally sits still long enough to read the whole thing to!

What a fab book my son loved it, the pictures are big , bright and colourful what a lovely surprise turning each page, one comment from my son though, he said the book could do with more words, I laughed as I thought it was so funny coming from him.

JilbyK Thu 20-Feb-14 19:23:13

Thanks so much for this book. My son absolutely loves it - dinosaurs are always a hit and he's just started learning some French so the perfect combination!
He's taken it into nursery to show his friends so a definite hit

Thank you very much for this wonderful book. My 3 year old son is a big fan of dinosaurs, thoroughly enjoyed the story and the illustrations too. Have read it many times already.

HazelDormouse Fri 21-Feb-14 11:53:11

Thank you for the picture book. Great timing, ds (4) is currently fixated on all things dinosaur, partly due to Cbeebies 'Andy's Dinosaur Adventures'. The illustrations are bright and colourful. Ds particularly liked the page where Pierre and Amelia are whizzing in a bathtub on what appears to be a roller coaster that goes on forever. He rather wants to have a go at that, me no.... I wish there were more picture books which gently introduced different languages to young children in this way.

My little boys enjoy nothing more than having a good story read to them, no day is complete without story time so when I was sent 'There's a dinosaur in my bathtub' we were delighted. It has such beautiful illustrations which is always good in a book aimed at pre school aged children.

There's a dinosaur in my bathtub by Catalina Echeverri is a about a little girl called Amelia having a secret she wants to share with the reader of the book. Amelia's secret is that there's a French dinosaur called Pierre in her bathtub.

After discovering Amelia's secret the reader is then swept away to join all the different adventures Amelia and Pierre have, including travelling to the moon and eating a giant ice cream.

There's a dinosaur in my bathtub is a fantastic book for both boys and girls, two of my sons, aged one and three, both love having the book read to them while they look at the splendid pictures.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone with children of pre school age.
