I have just started to read Dear Zoo to my 3mo DS and he loves it, and tries to turn the pages etc. Can anyone recommend similar books for babies?

Ha ha, I thought you were going to complain:

  1. Why the zoo is giving out pets, not the pet shop;

  1. Why there is no sort of vetting process to send a bloody lion, etc!

But to answer your actual question, the Hungry Caterpillar?

At 3mo mine all loved the 'that's not my...' books, with things to feel on each page. I think the author of 'I wrote to the zoo' did a farm one though not quite as good imho! Try googling the author's name. Also try the library, they usually let you renew book lots of times (useful when they pass through the obsessed with one story stage) and no fines here for under 5s.

My DC are 18&16 now but loved that book. I can still remember most of it. Another one of their favourites was Oh Dear.

Mine loves Where's Spot?
It's a similar lift the flap type book. Dear Zoo is still her favourite though

Yes it's called "oh dear" it's all about Buster going to collect the eggs and my dd loves it! She is also a big fan of the "that's not my" range.

Sorry not to help but my dc absolutely loved that book. They are 9 and 12 now though. I can't ever give Dear Zoo away as it is an absolute favourite.

All the Buster books are great! We have got 'Buster's Birthday for DS2s 3rd birthday next week as he loves Oh Dear and Dear Zoo.

Each Peach Pear Plum.

I was reading this book to my (now 9 yo!) DD1 in a shop once, waiting for DH to try on some trousers, and an older lady came up to me to say how much she'd loved reading that book to her children Smile

I've just looked at the Wikipedia page for Allan and Janet Ahlberg, and seen that Allan Ahlberg identifies himself as the baby in Peepo (another lovely book, OP) - somehow that makes it more poignant.

All of the Rod Campbell ones were loved by mine when they were little.
Especially good as they often have lift the flaps.

The Spot the Dog series went down well.

Also Miffy/ Poppy Pig by Dick Bruna

Mary Murphy - I like it When

Oh Dear! I'd very similar, with farm animals.

That's not my... Books are very popular with DS, so is Sleepy Baby.

Each peach, Peepo, Caterpillar. Any of the other Rod Campbell books are good. DS2 liked the Spot books but I didn't.
Also "I'm not scared" about a baby owl which we got from bookstart.
