Hi all Grin I love reading and want 4mo DD too too. It might sound silly but I read to her after her bath in our quiet time.
We are collecting mr men books and reading the Disney fairy stories. Which I don't like. We have aesops fables and hand christen Anderson but I'm looking for a big children's book with stories like the three bears in, the classics as such.
I'm hunting high and low, do your children have anything as such you would reccomend?

My DD has loved Peepo by the Allbergs from the word go - partly it is the book (buy the cardboard version!) as it has a hole on most pages and she likes to play with it, but she also seems to like the story and loves it when I narrate the room to her in the same verse. The Hungry Caterpillar is also a classic. And Winne the Pooh, of course.

Ah, I was all set to list you all the books DS (15 months) likes...but they're not classics.

Never mind, just in case, here's his favourites (in no particular order as he chooses which ones he wants and goes through phases) :

Mr Gumpy's Outing
Mucky pup
The Tiger who came to Tea
Peace at Last
The Gruffalo
Monkey Puzzle
Room on a broom
Twas the night before Christmas (no joke - he loves it!)
Belinda's balloon
The very hungry caterpillar
Not now Bernard
Where's spot

From 5 months he adored the Usbourne touchy feely books (that's not my Tractor/monster/monkey/etc.) and the Whose series (Whose nose/bottom/feet/etc.)

DS really responds well to books with rhythm and rhyming couplets - he's not yet old enough for the story really.

Thank you we have the hungry caterpillar and the highway rat but I'm really looking for one book with all the classics in it, maybe it doesn't exist.
She's only 4 months so its not a rush but I like it x
