October chapter book of the month is Operation Bunny by Sally Gardner.
Emily Vole's life is transformed when she inherits from a neighbour a small bunch of golden keys, a cat called Fidget and an old shop which was once the Fairy Detectives Agency. It is up to Emily to reopen the shop, and recall the fairies to duty. Together they must embark on their first mystery and do battle with their great fairy-snatching enemy, Harpella.
If you'd like to read more, visit our October Chapter Book of the month page where you can read the first chapter and apply to win one of fifty copies of the book (application form closes Wednesday 3 November at 10am).
Author Sally Gardner is joining us for a live webchat on Friday 12 October at 1pm. She will be answering questions about Operation Bunny and her other books. She will also be talking about her experiences of being severely dyslexic; from being expelled from school at 14 to becoming a hugely successful children's author and illustrator.
October 8-12 is National Dyslexia Awareness Week and Sally's story is one of triumph over adversity - a beacon of hope to dyslexic children everywhere. Sally now works with Dyslexia organisations, and talks to children up and down the country about seeing dyslexia as a gift, not a curse. Sally's recently been nominated for Dyslexia Action's IT'S ME! Award 2012, which celebrates those in the public eye who encourage others not to let their dyslexia hold them back.
Post your questions to Sally in advance of the webchat or join her at 1pm on Friday 12 October.
