Hi,

I am just a few weeks pregnant, and once I am past 12 weeks, DH and I plan to tell DS (2.5).

Can anyone recommend a good book explaining Mummy's pregnant?

thanks

Personally I'd wait until much nearer the time, 6 months is an age to a child! 'There's a house in Mummy's tummy' is a good book.

Oh, yes, we'll wait until a right time. Thanks for the recommendation!

DS1 was about this age when I became pg with ds2. We actually told him before anyone else (after about 12 weeks) as we didn't want anyone else telling him and maybe him thinking he was being replaced by a newer model!

What sort of book are you after - a factual one explaining about how mummy's tummy is getting bigger or a story one about life with a new baby?

"There's a house inside my mummy" is the one I think. Ds1 loved it. We also had a book that was purely pictures, called "The new Baby", which was useful for talking through how things would be different; also loved "Little brother and the cough", which gives a slightly less rosy picture; and "Sophie and the New baby"
