books for a only just 7 year old

DS is reading ORT stage 7 to 9 at school, we have a few books at home (Tom Palmer Football Academy series) that are short chapter books he is reading.
Can anybody recommend any other easy chapter books for him?

My DD loved the Dinosaur Cove series by Rex Stone.

My DD loves the Oliver Moon series (a kind of Harry Potter lite!) and also the Smelly Bill series, which she finds very amusing. Both are short chapter books
