Free ebooks

Just wondered if anyone could recommend any good sites that have free ebooks for children. (I have tried googling but am overwhelmed by the number of results). Or even any particulary good paid for sites?

I've recently discovered that my "reading averse" DS will happily read a book if it is on the computer, so wanting to encourage this new found interest!

HI, I don't know how old your child is so these might be a bit young, but have you looked at www.starfall.com/n/level-c/index/play.htm?f ? My son loved redaing the folk tales particularly. There is also this one www.sebastianswan.org.uk/ which my son loved too. But as I say, these may be the wrong level for your child.

More free e-reading for children: I've just posted www.eeekthealien online and it's free to read for the next month or so - please do share. It's about an alien who runs away to earth because he loves football. (He turns up on Charlie Spruit's doorstep one morning!) Fast-paced and fun! I wrote it for my boys when they were younger to encourage them to read. Suitable for age 8-11 or thereabouts. There's also a feedback button that can be used to tell me what they think of the site.
