Have been asked to do a risk assessment for sleeping children. Any thoughts on what to include?

Thanks

I take it you mean children staying overnight

getting up in the night for the toilet, risk of injury falling down the stairs, stair gate and night light.

fire risk, smoke alarm checks, practice escape route.

overheating,room thermometer, checks.

not sure that helps!!

No not for overnights but routine day sleeps.

Keeping hanging things away from the cot (blind cords etc)

Keep room well ventilated

Smoke alarm

Cot death - so feet to foot

Appropriate temp - so heating, no of blankets etc, keeping cool in the summer

That sort of thing?

How often you check on a sleeping child?

Toys in the cot?

Other items in the room where they are sleeping?

Can you hear them?

Can you get them out quickly in the event of a fire?

Hope you don't mind a non-cm joining in.

Removal of loose/hooded clothing before settling to avoid strangulation/suffocation.
