sally...registered childminders are listed on Ofsteds website I think.

Hi, I'm a childminder in Bridgend. Your local Childrens Information Services will be able to email or post you a list of registered childminders in your area, their phone number will be in the local phone directory or you could get a list from the National Childminders Assosiation (NCMA) they are based in Swansea but cover Cardiff Tel: 01792 324454.

Another website offering childcare is: WWW.netmums.com they advetise childminders everywhere, you can log onto the local area section.

There's a free booklet published by the National Childminding Association, the NCMA Guide To Choosing The Right Childminer. They have an info line on 0800 169 4486 (10-4 weekdays) for anyone who wants info on anything to do with childminding. See NMCA website .
