Does anyone know how much I should expect to pay a childminder? The only one I have contacted from the council's list charges £10 an hour or £65 for a full day per child. This seemed so expensive that I'm now too scared to ring any of the others on the list up and ask (although she's in the next street so it's convenient.) DD will be 2 and DS 5 - ideally I'd want the CM to do the drop off and pick up from his primary school about a mile away. (We live in Twickenham.)
Sounds pricey to me - me and my group charge from £3.50 to £4.oo an hour per child, and often make discounts for siblings. Ring the others to check - also its advisable to meet at least 3 even if its just to compare, every CM is very different to the next. Best of luck finding one you are all happy with
most c/m in my area are charging around £4.50 per hour and i live in kingston so not 2 far from u. i think £10 is v.expensive, ring other c/m as maybe you just hit on the most expensive 1st time. could be shes the only one with vacancy due to price. c/m in my area always fully booked, as reasonably priced. i personally wouldnt pay more than around 5.50 per hour. good luck. x
I am looking for an after-school nanny for my 5 year old to pick up from NW3 and bring home to NW7. They must have their own car. Have tried advertising on gumtree (where I got the last nanny from who was amazing) but no decent responses. Has anyone got any other ideas of where I could try? Thank you
I charge a minimum fee for afternoon pick up of £15, (and that is as a favour as I have had them since little) I pick up 2 girls at 3pm and drop home at 4, but the school is 8 miles away and I have to leave at 2.30.
