How convenient that you live in the same area as me, saves me listing anything! D'ya think I should spill and tell you where I am?

fifilou Wed 04-Jul-07 14:03:15

i think I have a rough guess of where you are Mo! i think youre in Blackheath?

MaureenMLove Wed 04-Jul-07 14:06:46

I'm not that rich sadly! No, I'm futher down Shooters Hill than that! Still, only about 15 mins from Greenwich and if you remember I'm almost on the London Marathon route!

fifilou Wed 04-Jul-07 14:09:44

Eltham?

Ha! got you!

My work is 20 mins form you in good traffic.

Where am I?

MaureenMLove Wed 04-Jul-07 14:11:26

You're roundabout Lewisham and no - its not Eltham. About 4 stops down on the train!

MaureenMLove Wed 04-Jul-07 14:12:08

BTW, you ran the wrong way if you were in Eltham on Marathon day!!!

fifilou Wed 04-Jul-07 14:15:47

MaureenMLove Wed 04-Jul-07 14:21:27

Ok, I'm in Bexleyheath! Which is only 10 mins from Charlton (that was part of the route!) Forgot about the nanny bit. Not much call for them in Lewisham is there! Probably..... Oo, Dulwich!

fifilou Wed 04-Jul-07 14:27:52

MaureenMLove Wed 04-Jul-07 14:33:50

God I'm good! You haven't got a clue where Bexleyheath is have you! Maybe if we can co-ordinate it, we could meet in Greenwich park over the holidays. If the rain ever stops long enough that is!

MaureenMLove Wed 04-Jul-07 14:36:42

Diggerland is fun. Can't remember exactly where it is, but its on the A2 out of London, quite near Crace actually!
Rochester Historic Dockyard
Firepower in Woolwich - the bananas would love that!

fifilou Wed 04-Jul-07 14:36:47

i kind of know where bexleyheath is i think?!

would love to meet up in the hols! Ive a 4yr old and a 7 yr old.

We are away for a few wks (26th july-13th august) and have lots of clubs, activites and day trips planned, but will be heading over to greenwich at some point so will let you nknow!

hope youre not all scary and actually a man with a beard! tee-hee!

fifilou Wed 04-Jul-07 14:37:27

whats firepower?

Furzella Wed 04-Jul-07 14:38:46

More Londonish ones (I'm in SW16 but travel!):

Dean City Farm (near Morden Hall)

Bocketts Farm (near Dorking - really hilarious pig racing and lovely pony rides)

Coram's Fields (nicest kids park in London - near Russell Square, adults only allowed in if accompanied by a child - yummy Marine ices cornets sold in the caff)

Polka theatre summer workshops in Wimbledon

Morden Hall Park for paddling

Science Museum kids bit in the basement

Further afield:

Paulton's Park near Romsey in Hampshire (Alton Towers for the under eights. Manic as are all theme parks on a busy saturday, but v well kept gardens and clean. The treat of the year in our house.)

Fisher's Farm in Sussex (sorry, bit of a farm theme going)

Will have another think...

fifilou Wed 04-Jul-07 14:40:26

Brockwell park on a hot sunny day- theresd a lido, but the kids paddling pool is brilliant (near herne hill)

we pack a picnic and spend hours there!

Furzella Wed 04-Jul-07 14:41:42

Can't believe I forgot to put down Tooting Lido - oh, that would be because it's been peeing down for months and we're more likely to go on an arc building summer camp....

MaureenMLove Wed 04-Jul-07 14:45:03

This is Firepower. And I promise to have a shave before I see you!

Raggydoll Wed 04-Jul-07 14:55:02

ok here are my best of the midlands...

drayton manor park and zoo
hoo farm
rays farm
weston park
telford town park

roaries indoor play
black country museum
canon hill park

bewdley and ludlow
wyre forest

dmo Wed 04-Jul-07 21:10:52

done my planning now and drawn up a table of where we are going, what times we will be out and what we need
each parent will get one tomorrow
only working 4 weeks of the hols as i am away for 2 wks so it was quite easy to organise

mogs0 Wed 04-Jul-07 21:32:16

I went to Drayton Manor two Saturdays ago and it was fab!! We used Clubcard points so was really cheap. I went with my friend, my ds(4yrs) and friend's ds (2 and a half) and they had a brill time. Didn't queue for any kiddy rides and not a single tantrum all day!!

I look after pre-schoolers so we tend to do the Aquarium and museums during term time when it's so much quieter.

My ds will probably be packed off to granny's for a bit of the hols then we're off to our caravan at the beach for two weeks so won't need to plan much at all.

Sorry, haven't made much of a contribution to your list have I?!!!
