Start using Mumsnet PremiumHelping a left out child
(2 Posts)That's an awkward age for many, especially for girls who for some reason really buy into the whole social status game at this point.
Some get left behind because they're not as adept.
The best thing to do is to absorb the group in something they can do together but individually such as making friendship bracelets or some other simple craft which doesn't require a lot of "stuff".
I work in an after school club and there are three friends. However one seems to get left out, the other two will play with her when there is nobody else but as soon as they are together or another person comes along the third child is left out. I’m wondering if anybody knows of any games or activities that I can sit with all 3 of them to make them realise this isn’t fair and is pretty mean to the third girl. The girls are in year 4 or 5 I think so are a little older. Thanks
