Following on from a conversation I had with Eleusis I am just wondering if any of you have employed Swedish aupairs and what they are like in general.

Oi. You are going to get me in trouble.

Not at all - how would I? You didn't have any knowledge of Swedish aupairs - all I asked was you if you knew what they were like in general as I have never encountered many Swedish people

Okay, just thought your op sounded a bit like I'd been bad mouthing the swedes. I've never known any swedish au pair / nannies. But I think they are accustomed to a lot benefits in their employment. And, isn't that the country where children don't go to school until they are 7.

I do have a swedish friend (actually she is Finnish but grew up in Sweden) and she is positively lovely.

Although my boys are older now, we had a string of au pairs of different nationalities. Our two Swedish girls were without doubt the BEST!! If fact we still keep in touch now seven years later.

They are kind, very down to earth, adore children and good at housework.

We had both their families come over to stay while they were with us and they were very pleased to see how well they fitted in with us.

Hope this helps!
