Minimum wage

Does minimum wage apply to a permanent nanny job if you're working 48 hours (8pm Friday - 8pm Sunday) or does it not count as you will hopefully sleep overnight while the toddler sleeps?

What salary would you expect for those hours?

For that I'd get. Hourly rate between the hours of 6am and 10pm. £30 overnight fee. So those hours would be roughly £380.

That's just what is in my contract. So my boss did that with her previous nanny. I work overnights roughly twice a month for 2/3 nights at a time.

That's a good point. I assumed as then would be sleeping there it counts as living in so no nmw needed??

Nick can you confirm? Shame can't tag on mn the way we can on FB smile

I would charge (if toddler slept)

8-12 £10ph bs rate
12-7 £50 sleepover
7am - 8pm £10hr hourly rate

So £220 per 24hrs

Sometimes will do £30 sleepover fee for regulars so would be £200 per 24hrs

So 400-440 for the hours you want

Accommodation offset could be used. It is not much.
NMW and NLW would apply as far as I can see.
ACAS are worth a call to get their view.
