Bearing in mind she's still at school.

What would you pay for 3 hours help?

What sort of help? A mother's help? Or are you looking for someone to take sole charge. Big difference IMO.

Are you talking about a registered assistant for CM? Do they have to be 18? I'm not sure. I would have thought minimum wage, but I've never got further than thinking about it.

I pay my 11 yr old 20p per hour in the school hols !

At least minimum wage for her age.

I was thinking £20 for the 3 hour session which works out as £6.67 an hour - does that sound ok?

Sounds good to me. I give my 13yo dd £20 a day during the holidays to help out.

If they are over 16 they need to be CRB checked
They need to be registered and approved by OFSTED
You need employers liability insurance
You need to register as an employer with the IR
You need to take references (ideally written ones)
If they are under 17 (I think) they cannot be included in ratios

otoh, is this someone to clear up while you play with the children?

In what sense is she an 'assistant'
