Does anyone know this?

nannyjo Sat 20-Aug-05 11:49:45

NVQ III is equivalent to NNEB.

confirm that nvq 3 ~= nneb... that's how we treat it for pay purposes at dd's preschool. Technically they are different qualifications, but supposed to be equiv. level (I think).

ssd Sat 20-Aug-05 20:55:32

how do I study for level 4? What sort of job would this qualification enable me to apply for?

NannyL Sat 20-Aug-05 21:32:21

the NNEB does not exist any more

the equivalnet qualification is NVQ level 3

i think to do NVQ level 4 you have to be in a management positon ie a nursary manager

Aims mum and anyone else i can assure you that the CACHE NVQ level 3 in early years care and education is a perfectly standard child care qualification.... NVQ level 3 for sole care, level 2 for supervised care (ie being in a nursary room with someone with NVQ 3)

that is AS valid as the other 2, hence nannies

here

gives details of all the qualifications etc

ssd, I think that the answer would be to consider what it you want to be able to do and then get look for the appropriate qualification. There are subtle differences between all the various qualifications, and you would probably want to do the one most appropriate for what it is you want to do, rather than saying doing a more general childcare qualification.

Ok Aims mum... fair point...

BUT how are we to know its Scotland??? where in this post does it say that?

If i moved to Scotland does that mean i would not be qualified as a nanny (i hope not!)

the question is "equivelent NVQ level to NNEB"... and its NVQ LEVEL 3 thats equivelent, and hence answers the specific question of this post
