Hi would this be unreasonable for a 5 year and 1 year old. Care would be at weekend sat from 4-11.30pm sun 10.30 - 6.30pm. south east london

sounds cheap for weekend care. A good deal!

think that's undercharging personally .. I'd go for £10 .. they are very unsociable hours

unless of course they're your children in which case, yes sounds perfectly fine

Unsociable hours. London. Sounds too cheap to me.

I also think at least £10 per hour.... for london AND weekend...

be prepared to pay more tho, as i know i would not want to work weekends, even for £10 per hour!

I pay £9ph for weekends up til 7pm, £6.50 thereafter (£8 during the week, £5.50 therafter). I'm in (very) South London.

£8 sounds plenty to me. What don't you have a look around and if there aren't any suitable candidates then raise the offering. There are a lot of nannies who work for less (bu no doubt none of them would admit it on MN)

If you are talking cash in hand then £8.00 is fine. If you are deducting tax and NI then you need to pay more.

Good point goldenoldie - I hire by the day through an agency, so my figures are the gross amount effectively (I assume that the nannies declare).
