Birthing pools that stay heated - where can I get one?

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can buy one of those birthing pools that I can fill a week before due date and it will stay heated. We only have a small boiler so last time it took 3-4 hours to fill and my mum and husband had all the hobs on and kettles filling and refilling. Bit farcical. As this is my second home birth I'm worried that I won't have that long and would like to have the pool up and ready. Does anyone know where I can buy one of those you can set up a week before and keep heated?

I had one of these. It comes with a lockable cover, heater and thermometer

Gentlewater a bit pricey but worth it

I have been thinking the same for my next time. I want dp to be looking after dd and me, not boiling pans of water up on the cooker.
Another suggestion someone once made to me was to get a hot tub spa from ebay - spa2go is the name of the company, I think - then use that for leisure use/future babies if you want or resell on ebay. It is EVEN MORE expensive, but only about £150 more than the gentlewater one and you could sell it.

It's another idea anyway.

I am considering it, but it seems like a lot of hassle so don't know if i would actually do it, truth be told.

Thanks chipeater. Can't believe the price of these though - especially when you include delivery to London. My pool cost so much less than this last time so I'm now wondering if I should just go with the same company and forget about the heating thing.

Hi Ragtaggle

Which pool did you use last time? I'm 34 weeks with number 1 and hoping for a home water birth - it's just occured to me that i'd better get the pool sorted out soon!

Does anyone else have any recommendations on pools?

Thanks

I have use Aquabirth www.aquabirth.co.uk - they hire pools supplied by Gentlewater but they are cheaper. She is discounting the rate to £275 at the moment (I only arranged mine about 10 days ago, picked it up last week). Putting it up tomorrow!

Hi spudballoo - I had already decided on this place after having spoken to the woman. But she's charging me £290.00 That includes delivering in collecting in central London though - where are you? Should I be haggling her down?!

hired mine from 'born.co.uk' but i'm based in bristol - hired for four weeks around my due date and was £100 per week but only £20 for the 4th week. it was lovely and you only have to change the water once a week.

Ah, I met her at South Mimms service station which I guess accounts for the difference. It was very funny, quite dodgy almost..handing over big boxes in the car park...like porn or something! She's so helpful, I highly recommend!

Will be putting mine up tonight - it's about time, i've had it a week!
