WWYD? Try to get active/ birth ball whatever or try to get some rest?

(It's 8:30 pm here, just so you don't all think I'm nuts)

Have been having contractions that are too painful to call BH (I think) since about midday. They were about every 30 mins, have slowed down, sped up, generally all over the place. For the last hour or so they've been about every 10-15 mins. I can talk through them still, can pretty much type, can't move for the duration though.

Literally NO other signs, no show, certainly no sign of waters breaking...

I just don't know if I should go and lie down on my side and try to get some rest (and see if it stops), or bounce on the birth ball and try to get things moving? Can't imagine that baby will be here before tomorrow am at the very earliest, even if this is it.

Are you OD. TBH I would try to rest, if you can't get active - I am no expert though.

Lets hope someone more experienced comes along

When I was at your point I tried lying down - they got worse, tried a bath - got even worse and waters broke (saved the carpets!). DS was born 3 hours later.

I would just try and rest. It won't make it go away though... at least you have plenty of warning. Just keep an eye on how often they are coming. If the hospital is a long way away, I would think about going soon... If it's just around the corner, I'd wait until they were every couple of minutes. Good luck!

Due today, hospital is close - 10 mins max at this time of night. This is dc2, and has been engaged for a few days, I've been watching the bump go down.

I was just out for dinner last night, confidently saying, oh, nothing's happening yet, maybe the end of the week

Lie down. I tried to do the active thing in my first labour and wore myself out. This time round I was determined to rest if i felt anything. My baby was two weeks late and after a sat of niggles it all picked up on sunday night of its own accord when I was sleeping.

Okay, it's unanimous - I'm going for a lie down. I'll be back if it gets worse!
