Hi, I came to Manchester 3 weeks ago to do my Master's degree at the Manchester University. I am an international student. I am 10 weeks pregnant and expecting the baby in May.
I cant really decide to give a birth in Mancherster or in my home country.
just one concern I would highly appreciate to read your opinion about: I've heard, that after delivery, you stay in Hospital for 24 hours and then you go home, while in my country you would usually stay 4-5 days. I share the flat with three other students and returning home with my newborn baby so shortly, really terrifies me.What do you think? can I or should I stay in the hospital longer?

Hi. For my first baby I stayed in for 3 nights - 1st night included night she was born. I don't think it's usual to turf you out very soon if it's your first one. Plenty of others stayed for 2 or 3 nights as well. If a straightforward birth I think you'd be unlikely to get a 4-5 night stay though.
