When are you due?

RoseBlossoms · 10/10/2009 18:49

hmmm

back ache?

how far on are you?

Report
princessmel · 10/10/2009 18:51

Don't think so.

I went to the hosp on thursday and they said I was 4cm and had a soft stretchy cervix and was experiencing cx. But nothing to speak of since, except for a bit of mucousy stuff this morning.

You are 4 cm, with bulging waters aren't you?
Time the tightenings!

How exciting!
I will be watching out for how you go (you're due 2 days before me, but I will be hideously late...)

Did you have anything like this before labour got going with your other children?

Report
princessmel · 10/10/2009 18:54

Nope. Well I had that heavy feeling for ages with dd, but no show/mucous, no bh, nothing atall.

ds was induced at 10 days late and dd's waters went at 3 days late but she had mecconium so had to be induced.

maybe you are having a silent labour

i think it might be a good idea to get checked out? certianly as you are a multip, 4cm, bulging waters and having cx. once you go, it might be v v v quick

what do your instincts tell you:

Report
princessmel · 10/10/2009 19:07

hmmm I've not experienced this before as dd and dd were both induced, so have never had the whole 'labour for a bit at home then go in' thing.

My bh are not painful like they were on thur in hosp.

instint is telling me it will die down again Espech as I am not due and have read on here loads that you can be dialated for ages before baby comes. But you never know.

just keep an eye on things and make sure your Dh has his phone switched on

He has and he wont be late.

I can sort of feel spiky quick sensations in my vagina too. What do you think they are??

Hmmm -- not wanting to alarm you, but I kept thinking I needed, a big, um, poo until the midwife said she could see DS head.

Ilovemydog
The bottom feelings are only when I have a tightenng or when baby moves in a way that pushes there iykwim.

sharp low down pains can mean dilation. i would think labour is imminent if not already starting

MrsHappy · 10/10/2009 19:42

I get those spiky quick bits - like sort of stabbing in my cervix? - and I think it is the baby's head pressing down. Your baby must be well positioned if you are feeling pressure in your bottom.

Funny how different each pregnancy is, isn't it?

Don't think twice about calling your DH home if you think it gets a bit more serious. Is he far away?

princessmel · 10/10/2009 19:53

The spikes are in my vagina/vulva area and quick!

Tummy feels quite tight quite a lot but baby is moving loads and loads...is that right?

Dh is about half hour away but show be home within an hour anyway.

I can't imagine anything will come of it , just can't see that happening to me.

I felt like something was coming out, like fluid before, about half hour ago, but only a small patch in my knickers. MW at hosp said that when waters do go it wont be a trickle but a gush so I don't think it's them.

This is confusing!!

could be a leak from higher up the sac. i would be inclined to go in for some monitoring, to see if these are BH or real ctx, can esp if you are leaking, can DH meet you there? can someone take you?

I think baby moving a lot is relevant.

Is your bag packed?

Is child care sorted for the other children?

Might be an idea to give a heads up to those baby sitting.

I had the spiky pains too with DD but don't think they were the day she was born.

Report
Narketta · 10/10/2009 20:04

I don't want to worry you but I was feeling like you describe for about 3 weeks before DD arrived,
When she finally decided she was ready to come my labour lasted only 44mins and she was delivered by DH before the paramedics reached us.
