Want to give birth alone this time with dd and dp in day room...

Anyone else done this?

I would much rather just get on with this labour. I sent dp away last time and he just made it to see dd born.

I want dd to be involved (although she will only be 18 months old) and would love her to be close. We have plenty of family who are fighting over who gets to look after her when d day arrives!

My labour with dd was only 2 hours so I shouldnt keeping them waiting for too long! I just love the idea of it being the 4 of us for a day or so before other people.

well, i delivered ds3 by myself. dp was in the room but he was on the phone to the ambulance people.it was a planned homebirth but things were happening a bit quicker than expected lol

bizarrely the day before he arrived we were talking about unassisted childbirth and i was feeling really strongly that i would like to give birth by myself and that i wasn't scared of it at all and i really didn't want anyone near me while i was in labour. got my wish pmsl

so, not quite your scenario, but i can understand where you're coming from!

Wow, I would love to do that too but would defo need some gas and air!

I was thinking of a home birth and having them downstairs but do you have to have a 2nd adult there aswell?? Plus, if Im in hospital I will get at least one night with dc2 all to myself

no, you don't have to have a second adult, you can do it however you like
