wet patch in knickers, they told me to go to labour ward now. Would you wait until tomorrow?

Hi, today at 7pm I went to the loo and noticed a wet circle in my knickers. I was not desperate for a wee, so I thought "a bit odd". I'm 38 weeks +, came home called labour ward, just to do the right thing, and was told to go tonight to be checked. Now I'm embarrased that it might have been a wee that I didn't feel! But normally I don't leak. It was just a little patch and nothing since. It's going to be a c/section. Would you go straightaway? I think I will, but wanted some opinions, thanks!

This happened to me - I went in and it turned out to be nothing - but I'm glad I went all the same. I don't think you can just ignore things at this late stage.

Thanks, makedoandmend. DH just came back, so he'll be staying with the children. I'll just instruct him not to call around people, in case it's nothing and I end up explaining that it was a wee!

I was in the same position at 37 weeks, wondering whether to bother to go in as they asked, thinking it was a bit of a drag. Six hours later I was holding a baby. Good luck!

I am 36 weeks and have been pissing myself consistently since before 20 weeks. If I am not wearing a tena lady the wee can drip right down my leg and I don't feel it at all.

It may be your waters, it may be wee

Good luck either way.

Smell it. Waters often smell sweet and very different to urne.

I remember my waters had the oddest smell, like sperm

Hello! Thanks for your posts. I'm still here pregnant.
The midwives at labour ward pulled a face and laughed at my 'symptom' . I told them I had been ASKED to go by another midwife. Still they made me wait a long time and then put me on the monitor for baby's heartbeat and contractions. After a nice (ouch) internal examination, it was concluded that it was only discharge (no wee! haha at least she said that and made me feel better ) So at 3am I could come home by taxi on my own, only to be woken up by DS at 7:30. I hope not to have another "wet patch" before the caesarean.
