Hello all who teach antenatal classes,

Can you tell me if there are alternative ways to become an antenatal teacher without doing it through the NCT which I will get insurance with and wont cost the earth?

Thanks

Hi, I'm a trainee NCT antenatal teacher.

SOme midwives take AN classes but that would be an even longer road to go down midwifery training.

FEDANT is the organisation which can supply insurance to teachers outside the NCT. Perhaps worth phoning them & see what organisations they deal with?

I applied for & won grant funding for the first year of my NCT training so the full course should cost me about £1200, perhaps a bit less. For a University HND in Adult Education, I don't think that's bad at all in terms of cost.

Good luck
