I'm two days before my due date and I'm pretty sure i've got thrush. I hope i can get a doctors appointment tomorrow as i really want to get it cleared up before the baby arrives. Has anyone had thrush when they delivered? Was all ok?

hi... I'm due in aweek and have had thrush all the way through pregnancy... and did with my last two little uns. It isn't a problem in birth at all... even if the baby gets some in its mouth they have told me its easy to clear up...so don't worry! its only if its strep b and possibly other infections that are potentially a big prob. I carry strep b and have to make sure I have antibiotics 4 hrs before baby born to help baby not catch it. Hope that helps... and good luck... is it your first or do you have any other little uns? x

Thanks for your message, it's my 3rd. How do you know you have strep B, do they routinely test in your area? It's always something i've been a bit worried about and don't feel people know enough about it considering how serious it can be.

I had a 'sample' (can't remember technical term!) taken during my first when I thought I had just thrush and the test came back saying I had strep B. Its something that cmes and goes so hopefully I'mnot even carrying it when the babys born. But you're right .. it should be tested for more routinely... I think they do in america... its just this country! If you are stressed over it don't wait for the docs pop to the hospital though... they test and get results a lot quicker. Good luck... were you overdue with the last two or not? I'm worried this one will be so quick Iwon't make it to the hospital! The first birth was 3hrs... second..2 ! Got partner reading up on delivery even though I don't think he'd actually be much help! lol! x
