I was due on the 12th and still no signs at all. The consultant told me last week he will see me in 12 days overdue and to be honest do not want to go that far overdue. It is my 4th baby and as of yet I have never gone into labour natural and also been induced with a drip as the gel never worked. My daughter is coming with me whom is 18 so quite looking forward to it!

Will let you know how I get on.

Nicola

good luck, I had acupuncture a few days before my ds was born on his due date, I slept through the night after it too, no trips to the loo, it was lovely (after I got my head round the whole tiny needle thing), very relaxing and I am sure it helped.

My friend had it because here baby was breech and overdue and she was advised to have cs. Baby turned and was delivered naturally 2 days later ( the acupuncturist had told her it would take a couple of days to work).
When she told her consultant she'd had acupuncture he was furious and told her it 'wasn't nature's way' !!!! This was a good few years ago though, so medical opinions may have changed.

Hi, I had acupuncture last week when I was 39w+3 and nothing happened apart from 2h of spectacular BHs! I think it was too early and the baby wasn't ready. Now I am 2 days overdue and will have again acupuncture tomorrow. fingers crossed it will work this time!! TC

I had acupuncture as I went 14 days late with DS. Ended up being induced anyway!
It was still worth doing though, if nothing else, it was lovely and relaxing. He showed me, and my partner, pressure points to use during labour as well. It's good that your daughter is going with you.

My labour did end up being super quick which I suppose could have been due to the acupuncture. I think officially it was something like 2hrs 40mins - not sure how they worked that out! I was induced at 6pm Friday eve and DS was delivered 7am Saturday morning.

Enjoy it! And all the best with the birth and your new baby.

pmsl @ 'not nature's way' as opposed to a cs .

I have two friends who are both reflexologists, they started each other labours (twice) using accupressure points on the foot, so I would say it could be very effective. Good luck.

oh no pains at all today. The midwife has offered me a sweep in the morning so going to accept as the three children are so fed up of waiting now! I feel more full of energy now then I did three weeks ago!

Hey - that could be the energy surge you get just before labour starts, you know!
Good luck.
