I have been a little uncomfortable this evening (perhaps wishful thinking lol) and have got a few sort of period type pains but not bad at all.. just wondering if it could be the start of things. Also wondering is caster oil safe to take as thought it was unsafe for the baby- not that i am going to take or not but so so uncomfortable and with having three more children and a house to run it is getting me down.

Tell me off if you wish for being so impaitent too!

That is exactly what my early contractions felt like.... Didn't think I was in labour because it wasn't agony but turned out I was.

I was a bit thick when it came to the whole labour thing and when my waters broke I didn't realise and just thought I had lost control of my bladder as it was a slow trickle rather than a gush. Went all day being upset that I couldn't stop weeing and had completely ignored the contractions as they were no worse than period pains so never questioned it.

The worst bit is that I read all the books and went to all the classes but still didn't realise.... Numpty

It wasn't until DP insisted I phoned the maternity unit when I started crying about my apparent incontinence that it occurred to me maybe something else was going on.

Common sense = nil points!

Good luck

Castor oil won't harm the baby (My MIL told me to take it as it would make the baby slippery and the sad part is I think she believed it was literally true!) BUT it will make you poo violently! And probably sick as well, so not a nice way to induce labour.

Stop being impatient!! Lol Get your DP to look after the kids and go and have a rest - you might need it!

Agree with Cherry about both castor oil & getting as much rest as you can! However, if you want to try something have a look at this site, its the avoiding induction download you need.

Good luck

Oh & with ds2, period type pains were my first sign of labour. This went on for a couple of days, the mw gave me a sweep & I went into labour later that day.

Back ache, which then started to come in waves and then started to contract around the front. Lots of power walking sped things along and helped with the pain.
