pupuce Tue 29-Mar-05 22:40:50

Aloha - I am not sure Starshaker is talking about contractions... or am I misunderstanding?

starshaker Tue 29-Mar-05 22:41:08

first baby 38 weeks my back is really sore then it goes away but comes back and pain killers not working

pupuce Tue 29-Mar-05 22:41:57

Comes and goes like what?

starshaker Tue 29-Mar-05 22:42:40

it will be really sore then its ok but comes back just as bad and worse if i move

RTKangaMummy Tue 29-Mar-05 22:43:28

Is it in lower back?

I couldn't stand sit or lie down nothing worked

IMHO I would get to hospital or ring midwife or whateveryour birth plan is

starshaker Tue 29-Mar-05 22:44:09

yeah its at the bottom of my back and sometimes my side

pupuce Tue 29-Mar-05 22:44:24

How long does the soreness last for ?
is it regular?
I wouldn't panic.

RTKangaMummy Tue 29-Mar-05 22:44:47

I was already in hospital and so was taken to labour ward

pupuce Tue 29-Mar-05 22:45:26

Do you think they are contractions... I mean is it regular? Does it come at the same pace and can you talk when it is happening?

starshaker Tue 29-Mar-05 22:45:26

it lasts a while havent timed it to be honest but it goes away for bout 10 minsish i think

starshaker Tue 29-Mar-05 22:46:56

yeah can talk but it really hurts feels like really bad period pain but when its gone its fine again

RTKangaMummy Tue 29-Mar-05 22:47:14

I will bow out now cos just realised that as pupuce is midwife she has way way more knowledge than me

And I amy be talking rubbish

Good luck

pupuce Tue 29-Mar-05 22:47:38

If this is every 10 minutes and these are contractions it is still (sorry!) early days.
If you are concerned you can call the labour ward, if you go in too early (10 mins apart will be) and you will be disappointed

starshaker Tue 29-Mar-05 22:48:15

pupuce Tue 29-Mar-05 22:48:34
