just went to hos app this mrning, was boked in for induction for tues morning, while i was there they checked me internally and im already 2-3cm so they did a membrane sweep (ouch) that was 45 mins ago, iv just got home, my back is killing me and im getting tightnings, would a membrane sweep bring on labuor that quick or should i be feeling these sorts of cramping/pains after having one and they will die down soon?

Hello

Sounds like it could be the start of things, although when I had mY sweep I had similar pains and slight blood loss too.
I ended up having an induction in the end despite them doing 3 sweeps!

how are you feeling f1nut?

The sweep can sometimes cause spotting and cramps that aren't labour pains too.

It might. Some gentle exercise may help to keep the tightening going or intensify them. Raspberry leaf tea might help too. Time a few each hour and see if they are getting closer together.

Oh, I hope it is the real thing for you!
Fingers crossed!

The first time i had a sweep i had it in the morning and by tea time i was in labour.

This could well be the real thing.
