Friend rushed into hospital - High Blood Pressure

One of my friends has been rushed into hospital with High Blood Pressure

She is 32 weeks

Does anyone have any experience?

Will she have to stay in or let out to go home?

They have a 2 year old as well

Obviously as I had prem babies at 27 weeks I know about the prem baby side of things

but don't know about high blood pressure

High blood pressure can be a sign of pre-eclampsia. At 32 weeks I guess they would want to monitor her for a while. Has it happened all of a sudden or has she had it before?

Agree with Snafu. They will probably montior her for a while, and depending on the reaction to rest etc will determine how long she stays in, and whether they think it could be Pre Eclampsia and perhaps plan for an early induction or even CS. If they think they may need to delivery pre-term they could offer injections to mature the lungs or at the other end of the scale the consequences could simply mean regular monitoring over next days/weeks with lots of rest.

Hope she improves soon, rest isn't going to be easy with a toddler around.
