So naturally I cannot concentrate at work at all. It's her first.

I've never been induced so not sure of the form - how long can it take?

My induction took over 48 hours to get started!

However, some inductions can work pretty fast and labout can start within a few short hours.

Hope all goes well.

Depends how they do it Enid - I went in at 8am, was induced at about 11am (breaking waters and syntocin drip) and ds1 was born at 8.37pm.

Do you know if she is dilated at all so can they break her waters or are they doing it with pessaries/gel?

she says gel, then breaking of waters (when she told me this I had to bite my tongue as they did this with dd2 and the contractions that followed were, er, rather strong )

I wasnt induced though, but the water bag just would not break. They did it with their fingernail in the end as the hook thing wouldn't do it - mmm, sanitary

Enid - what did they want to break your waters for anyway?!? To speed it up?

Let us know how it goes with your sis!

I was fully dilated and had a tremendous urge to push but the bag hadn't broken so they broke it. Is that not right?
