Any top tips for NOT going into labour?

Yes, not the usual question, but my husband is working 4 night shifts starting tonight, and although he would be allowed out of one should I actually be in labour, he will have to go back and finish the others. I do not want to be on my own for first 3/4 days.

I am 38 + 5 with second, and have had some fairly big, not painful, braxtons, throughout this evening. No other signs.

So what can I do? Eat very bland food? Avoid castor oil?

Relax and rest, eat and drink normally and realise that if your baby plans to come tonight there is not much you can do about it! Sorry.

How extremely unreasonable of your dh's employer. He is entitled to paternity leave and they cannot make him start it about a week after the birth. Assuming you are still pregnant in the morning and you have the energy, ring Citizen's advice.

Are they allowed to do that.

What is the law regarding paternity leave?

just looking at this I would say that he is not entitled to take "paternity leave" for 1 day ( the birth) and return to work. He has to take his 1/2 weeks consecutatively.
