Do I have a uterine infection?

2 weeks and 3 days past ceasarian childbirth. My lochia veers between brown and red and although not excessively heavy from the start has not reduced in amount. I have had some stabbing pains in my stomach which feel a bit like being stabbed with a knitting needle.

My lochia does not smell anything like period blood-it smells a bit disgusting like nothing I have ever smellt before. I have checked my temperature and it is normal.

Can you ask your health visitor or midwife? My lochia was heavy and mainly red with clots for a couple of weeks after my cs. It smelt nothing like period blood, more like old meat or a butcher's shop. It was horrid but I certainly wasn't infected. Are you taking it easy, you will bleed more if you do too much?

bad smell & pain definitely sign all is not well, please get to your docs, and /or call midwife if you are still under her care
