Age gaps between my children

Flum Fri 11-Jul-08 21:52:01

2yrs 4 mths is the [erfect age gap and our gap between our three is exactly that. I think by that age, you have got them out of nappies and they might even sit and colour, do a puzzle, look at a book or watch Teletubbies for 20 minutes without demanding attention, and that is how long you need to feed a newborn innit.

Nemoandthefishes Fri 11-Jul-08 21:52:25

not insane I have ds who is 4.8yrs,dd1 2.6yrs and dd2 1.6yrs it is insanse but fab

Nemoandthefishes Fri 11-Jul-08 21:52:42

oops meant to say chaotic but

mummy2t Fri 11-Jul-08 21:52:45

omg, how are you coping??
i thought all hell would break loose when ds2 was born but its surprisly easy! hence wanting to try again for number 3

aGalChangedHerName Fri 11-Jul-08 21:54:42

Ds1 17 in September

Ds2 13 in December

Dd1 4 in August

Dd2 2 in August

Mostly fine but a teen tantrum plus toddler meltdown is hard work lol

mummy2t Fri 11-Jul-08 21:56:49

omg dealing with teenagers and toddlers at same time, hats of 2 you agalchangedhername!!

aGalChangedHerName Sat 12-Jul-08 09:08:40

Lol mummy2t luckily for me my eldest has gone through most of the teen stuff(always been quite sensible actually) so it's my ds2 that is having strops atm.

Dd's are mostly ok too and the ds's do help out a lot with their sisters. Would love another but DH has had the snip so just enjoying the lovely dc we have smile

Gaps here are:
12 months 3 weeks
15 months
I'd say go for it, you will reap the rewards later when they are so close.

I think that whatever age gap you end up with you make the best of it. You just have to do what feels right.

All being well with bump there will be 2 years 9 months between mine and I think thats perfect grin.

Was the 4-year gap by choice? Because if not, yes, start trying now!

Otherwise... How do you feel about double buggies? Two in nappies? Two not walking? Two at the tantrum stage together?

How would you be coping if your ds2 had colic / needed to be held all the time / took an hour over each feed / stayed up all night? Perhaps he does, I don't know!

Was your pg straightforward? Small age gaps aren't so good if you've had a cs or may end up in hospital.

You may be guessing that I like a bigger age gap (2y9mo twice). grin

OTOH, I'm already struggling to cope with them all wanting/needing to do different things at the same time (they are 6,3, and 7 months).

MKG Sat 12-Jul-08 16:49:11

There are 21 months between ds1 and ds2 and there will be 21 months between ds2 and dc3 when it's born in March.

I think it's a great age gap.

popsycal Sat 12-Jul-08 16:52:01

ds3 due in sept when ds1 will have just turned 6 and ds2 will have just turned 3 and a half

popsycal Sat 12-Jul-08 16:52:18

so gaps of 2.5 years then 3.5 years

missmama Sat 12-Jul-08 17:10:51

DS1 10
DS2 7 1/2

Perfect age gap everything worked smoothly.

DC3 due Dec 08

Dont know how this will work out. grin

Blocky Sun 13-Jul-08 13:12:12

DS1 - !2, DS2 - 2.

They are both prone to moody tantrums (onset of teens and terrible two's), fight like cat and dog but absolutely adore each other.

Tas1 Sun 13-Jul-08 16:49:43

DD1 is 23
DD2 is 13
DD3 is 11
DD4 is 5 grin

4andnotout Sun 13-Jul-08 16:51:11

DD1 6
DD2 3

Elmosgirl Sun 13-Jul-08 16:51:23

I have 18 months between mine, was pregnant when DD1 was about 8 months old. DD2 now 4 months and all fine so far and really glad I had them close together,

4andnotout Sun 13-Jul-08 16:53:21

25 week gestation obviously grin

allgonebellyup Sun 13-Jul-08 16:54:56

Juuule, are you for real??????????

allgonebellyup Sun 13-Jul-08 16:55:49

no, just read your kids ages/gaps, it is all physically impossible!
