2nd DC. Head 'fixed and deeply engaged'. Does this mean labour is imminent ?

Or could it still be weeks away yet ? I am 36 weeks. Saw the MW this morning and she told me that it was deeply engaged now so just wondered how long it could be now and if it's likely that it could still go full term.
Thanks everyone.

I was 4/5s engaged on Friday when I was 36 weeks. I'm banking on being early but realise it could still be weeks away.

Is it your first? Apparently you're less likely to be this engaged with subsequent babies (this is my 3rd)...

My second was deeply engaged at 37 weeks, was a few days early in the end.

No it's my second. I posted this in the pregnancy section as well and the general opinion seems to be could be ages yet so back to the raspberry leaf tea for me
Thanks for your help.

Hi Lolski,
I'm in the same boat (almost) - head engaged at 35 weeks, 2nd dc.
From what I am told, you could deliver anytime between 37 weeks and 42.
Was your first early/on time/late?

Hi Bun2. My first was born at 36 weeks which is why I am getting a bit twitchy. He was 7lb 1oz and perfect so I am quite glad that he didn't go full term !!
I think i am a bit more nervous because the MW told me on Monday that the baby was extremely low and she would be very surprised to see me at my next appointment in two weeks. Oh well back to waddling around for the time being Good Luck !

Hi Lolski,
Good luck to you too. Sounds like you may well be early. Some people just cook them faster!
Saw my midwife today who said she thinks I have a good chance of delivering early. But you never know.....
Keep us posted.
