grrr... 40wk+10. never had a hint of a contraction or the like. couple of moments of period pain lasting, ooh, 10min. but thats it.
sweep yesterday. apparently i'm 2cm dilated, mw could feel baby's head. am anterior, and well effaced. at the time, she said she'd broken the plug, and this morning i had a proper show.
BUT - other than feeling slightly sick yesterday afternoon, and a teensy bit periody, i feel exactly the same as before. not even the vaguest hint of a contraction.
grrrr. rationally, i know its all fine. will have the baby, cause they'll induce. prob not a sign of anything wrong.
BUT - i feel so low. really wanted to use the home-from-home MW led centre and every day that passes it becomes less likely. bizarrely, i was so looking forward to birth, but not now. feel like i've been waiting for this baby for the best part of a month. i need to pull myself together, but am tired and immobile. seeing consultant tomo, and another sweep on friday. then induce, MW says it may be poss to have one go at pessary induction and still be able to use mw-led centre, but i have heard otherwise. also, when i visited the centre, they said they only took women up til 41 wks. obvs am over that, and fear that by time i have pessary induction, i'll be at 42 weeks so double whammy. also, i heard that after 42 weeks, baby mortality soars.
i know that once baby's here, no matter how she arrives, all this should fade into insignficance. but right now its v hard to remember that. been seraching thru old threads on sweeps and most people said something (even just early stages starting) happened in 24 hours. any positive experiences of things kicking off out of the blue after 36 hours or something.
sorry for long miserable post. know its a v minor problem compared to lots of others. please no-one tell me to have sex. going to do some more walking on spot and stretching now.
