Hi everyone,
I'm compiling a cd for a friend to take into the labour ward for his wife and I am looking for suggestions. Did any of you listen to any good tunes to help you through the birth?

We played lots of classical. It was lovely and relaxing.

Would be quite funny to put 'all that she wants is another baby' on it, but I can't remember who it was by
I had nice and relaxing pure moods and I remember mid contraction towards the end thinking, I'm glad we have nice music on, so yes it really helped me!!

Classicla music. although, must admit as it all get going it was irritating the life out of me so I changed it to a tape of elvis - MUCH better. But would agree that most people would find nice soothing classical or ballads type stuff. What about some of those woman type cd compilations that are out right now ready for mothers day? Eva cassidy, Katy Melua and the like....

Just her favourite music really. Music that relaxes her, so it could be heavy metal or classical, either way (IMO) it will go down well

I wold go for cheerful singalong types tunes which keep motivation going and provide a good distraction from pain - stuff like Brown eyed girl and dont stop me now.

That was ace of base

How about
The Verve - the drugs dont work
Salt and Pepper - Push it
D:ream - things can only get better
Gloria Gaynor - I will survive
The Jacksons - can you feel it
McFadden and Whitehead - aint no stoppin us now
Diana Ross - im coming out
and is it sinatra who sung - and now the end is near ...........

Obviously depends on their sense of humour

I had calming rain forest tunes: water running, birds chirping stuff like that. It would be funny if you added one of Denny185 tunes into the middle of that tape and gave her a laugh, not to many laughs tho, she might not be in the mood!
