Hi all. I'm in NZ so topsy turvy time diff.
Woke this morning a bit before 5am, had a few contractions which felt more regular than BH, then felt a slight rush of fluid.

Went to loo - not sure whether a show or leaking fluids?? Pinkish. Seemed more than I expected from a show but less than I'd expect from waters - any thoughts? Nothing since in that department.

Still having fairly regular contractions but able to potter around house. Have taken some panadol. Not sure about running a bath yet as don't want to slow things down.

Am 41+1 so very impatient for this baby to come now!!

Ooh how exciting - what did the fluid smell like (ie was it wee smelly or not?) Potter, rest, drink tea, you know the drill. Good luck

It sounds like it's coming to me.

Try and get some rest, and having a warm bath sounds a good idea. Good luck!

Thanks!
Fluid smelled like asparagus!

Contractions quite irregular - sometimes every 2 mins (if moving around) then can be a big gap if I sit down. So guess I need to keep moving!! But only last about 30 secs max so am picking it will be a while yet. Just don't want it to stop completely.

Still at home. Not much change. MW thinks may not step up a notch until evening now so will send DD home with my mum this evening.

Painful but not excruciating and quite irregular. No more fluid so think that must have been a "show" this morning. Not quite so dramatic but at least means I can have a bath later when it cools down a bit (nice summers day here)

They've gone out to a playground so DD quite happy. A friend is coming over to keep me company soon which will be nice as am a bit bored!!

Hello all! Well things got going very quickly!!! At 5.40pm I was at home talking to a friend thinking that the contractions were starting to get a bit more painful and by 7.40pm she was born

At 6pm called MW but she encouraged me to stay at home a bit longer as although the contractions were closer together they didn't seem to have increased markedly in intensity. I ran a bath but only stayed in about 20 mins as contractions quickly got very painful.

Decided to go to hospital about 6.45pm, excrutiating 20 min trip where every light seemed to be red, as by that time contractions almost continuous and very painful. Met MW at hospital around 7.15pm by this time doubled over in pain and waters broke immediately. Given G&A pipe to suck on and immediately started pushing - and she was born 25 mins later!!

Beatrix Amelia Jane, 30 Dec, 7lb 11oz.

Overnight in hospital but home by 2pm next day after largely sleepless night due to other crying babies.

Beatrix is a little angel and has been sleeping and feeding like a trooper - long may it last!!

She has to go back on Friday for a ultrasound as they are still concerned there may be some blockage in in digestive system or kidneys which caused me to have severe polyhydramnios (lots of amniotic fluid). After that fingers crossed we are all clear after quite a stressful PG.

Thanks everyone. Little Bea is doing really well and I'm still on cloud nine. I feel in my heart that they won't find anything on Friday as she is doing everything she's supposed to do and doesn't seem in any discomfort.

Thinking of you tomorrow Hatrick.

xx
