(2 Posts)I had a 2nd degree tear of my vaginal wall during birth 5 days ago.
With my first baby, I had a 2nd degree tear of my perinium.
What's the difference (if any?). Googling vaginal wall just brings up info on perinium tears but this time around feels a lot more "comfortable" and I'm guessing it's to do with the position of the tear
If it says 'vaginal wall' tear it is just that.
It means that your perineum is intact (the skin between vaginal orifice and anus) but you tore inside the vagina.
It may feel more comfortable this time as it is inside and doesn't burn when you pee and doesn't cause as much discomfort as you defecate as it doesn't put pressure on the perineum.
